We maintain a low student-teacher ratio in each class to ensure abundant classroom attention; shaped to the personality and learning style of each student, instead of the traditional learning style. We have students from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds and adapt instruction to each student’s academic needs.
We emphasize character education and provide opportunities for students to grow in a stimulating environment that instills respect for others and their surroundings. We start our day with a morning assembly, in which we discuss a character education theme.
We are a full immersion STEM school that applies the interdisciplinary project-based learning approach. The real-world problems are embedded in the curriculum for every grade level for the entire academic year. Teachers work with the team of teachers from vertical and horizontal level to align knowledge and skills from different content areas. In addition to academic content areas, special classes like; Quran, Arabic, Art, and Physical Education integrate STEM standards. The leadership team makes sure that weekly team meetings are conducted by teachers for planning and once a month with the PBL lead to go over the project plans that are aligned with cross-curricular lessons, state standards, and school’s curriculum maps.
We offer several high school level courses starting from 6th grade. The middle school courses are aligned with Pre-Advanced Placement courses that are Honors Levels. High school has several programs; the early college program is geared towards students earning at least two years of College Level Credit along with High School Credit. Graduation plans are individualized within five endorsement areas; STEM (Health Science & Engineering), Arts and Humanities, Multidisciplinary, Public Services, and Business & Industry. We offer Academic, Honors, Advanced Placement and Dual Credit level high school courses. Students receive ongoing advising for college admission processes and post high school preparedness as well.
